A ghostwriter is someone who writes another person's book, speech, or article. The ghostwriter does the writing, and the other person (known as the author) provides the ideas or story. The author usually gets the primary credit for writing the book.
Often, the byline on a ghostwritten book will read something like: "By John Smith with Jane Doe." The first name is the person telling the story, and the second name is the person who actually did the writing. Usually, a person who wants to write a book, but doesn't have the time or writing skills to do so, will contract with a ghostwriter.
As a ghostwriter, I focus on nonfiction books. I particularly enjoy writing books on subjects that interest me. These subjects include:
- Memoirs of interesting people
- True stories of interesting events
- True stories of people overcoming adversity
- Christian books
- Business success books
